This is a psssion projecct of mine and is slowly taking shape in the form of talks, guided experiences into mythological landscapes and a book.
So what is is all about...
It began as I walked the landscape of Brú na Boinne in Irelands Ancient East over 18 months. As I walked and spoke about the Neolithic people who created the famous passage tombs of Knowth, Dowth and Newgrange, I started one-day to SEE with neolithic eyes, the landscape. I saw the ancient Paleolithic Boyne river in its fullness, I started to see how she became a GODDESS. I started to hear her voice as she sang the wheel of the year and Boann came alive. She was no longer a character in myths that sought to lessen her. Instead I saw the glorious life of a river that shaped the consciouness of the the people that settled there millenia after millenia. I saw the life of a river that shaped a landscape with her vital force. I saw a river goddess that became a mirror bridge for the milky way above her.
When I started to listen to her and the land speak, the myths took on a much deeper meaning, and my body responded differently to the landscape and the river itself. It took the myths out of my mindscape and planted them back in the landscape and the river they were born from. Now I am in community with the Bend of the Boyne. Now I am in community with a goddess. Not as a concept, but embodied in my senses.
Imagine if we all saw through the eyes of the land...
Imagine if we all entered into community with place and its animistic forces..
What an amazing world it would be!
